James 1:1-12

Introduction

1. Prepare For Problems v. 2-4a
   1. Count
   2. Consider
   3. Comprehend v.3
      "patience"
      "endurance"
      The immediate result of testing is endurance. v. 3
      The ultimate result of testing is a mature faith. v. 4
      
   4. Cooperate v.4
2. Perceive the Purpose v. 4b-8 James offers two reasons why we flunk our test in life.
   1. A lack of wisdom. v. 5
   2. A lack of faith. v. 6 If endurance is built through trials and testing, then wisdom is obtained through prayer and faith.
   3. A list of suggestions:
      1. Don't panic.
      2. Don't over react.
      3. Write down the facts, as you know them.
      4. Don't engage in post mortems.
      5. Seek God's wisdom and listen to Him in faith.
      6. Put your eyes on the Lord and not on the problem.
3. Ponder the Prescription v. 12
   1. The blessedness of endurance.
   2. The reward of endurance.
