Book Review :: Fear No Evil, David WatsonHarold Shaw Publishers. What does a preacher do when he has a terminal illness? One preacher did something unique: he wrote a book about it. Fear No Evil is Canon David Watson's own account of what it is like to have cancer and know that your days are numbered. He died at age 50, a month after he preached his last sermon. (Text - Psalm 91!)
David Watson was a popular preacher and author in England, and thousands attended the memorial services. Perhaps his greatest sermon (or book) was the courageous life he lived during the year he lived with cancer. Pastors and their wives will identify with this story, and we all ought to learn from it. I agree with J. I. Packer's description of the book: "Marvelous, poignant, radiant."
If you were under that kind of a "death sentence," how would you alter your life and ministry?
